Het is mei en dat wil dus zeggen dat heel deze maand in het teken staat van "the greatest spectacle in motorracing" nl; de indy 500.

Gisteren was er de eerste testsessie voor de rookies die moesten bewijzen wat ze waard zijn. snelste was Danica patrick (slechts de 4de vrouw die aan de start komt) traagste was Bourdais.

het is opvallend dat Bourdais traagste is. zegt veel over het niveau van CART, denk ik :(

Die Danica Patrick is wel headlines aan het verzamelen in de US, als die zo doorgaat dan lukt het haar wel wat IRL-founder Tony George niet gelukt is. Namelijk IRL bekend maken bij de grote massa.............wanneer zou ze bij Oprah Winfrey komen? ;) :D

Arie Luyendijk SR. is weer in da house ;) Toyota-talent Ryan Briscoe wil er weleens vanaf vliegen op een Oval ondanks dat hij gezien zijn weinige ervaring wel altijd bij de snelsten te vinden is. Luyendijk is zijn mentor geworden, e.e.a. te lezen op www.autosport.nl

Kan alleen maar in de US, rijden voor je concurrent is goedkoper dan voor het eigen team :) Adrian Fernandez (team-eigenaar) rijdt deze Indy 500 voor het team van Mo Nunn.

Madam Patrick weet het gaspedaal ook weer te raken. Ze zit altijd, als rookie, in de buurt van de top 10. Deze week zijn de vrije trainingen voor de Pole-day van a.s. zaterdag.

Rice (winnaar van vorig jaar) in ieder geval niet op pole

Rice was admitted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with a severe back contusion and concussion, and doctors will determine whether he can further participate in the event next week.

De kwalificaties voor de eerste 11 plaatsen is gisteren niet doorgegaan vanwege de regen. Vandaag was de planning om te kwalificeren voor de plaatsen 12 t/m 22............gewijzigde planning dus, vandaag voor de plaatsen 1 t/m 22 dus.

Warm is het er ook niet, normaal gesproken 2 warm-up laps voordat men aan de kwalificatie-run begint van 4 rondjes..........nu 3 warm-up laps. Mocht dat niet helpen dan worden bandenwarmers toegestaan.

Arie Luyendijk Jr probeert zich deze week te kwalificeren voor de Indy 500. Hij komt uit voor Beck Motorsports met een Dallara-Chevrolet.
