Markko Martin stopt ermee..
Martin is 30 en vind dat hij de leeftijdslimiet bereikt heeft.
"Mijn loopbaan eindigt in mineur,ik was liever op een andere manier gestopt".

Jammer,maar begrijpelijk vind ik,dat leeftijdslimiet gedoe is natuurlijk zever,maar ik denk dat je na zoiet wel met een halve voet op de rem begint te rijden,en dat je dan beter de helm aan de haak hangt.

Raar, in de Autosport van deze week staat iets heel anders te lezen over Martin. In het interview staat o.a. te lezen dat hij voor 2006 geen goede deal kon sluiten. Hij doet geen harde uitspraken over een eventuele terugkeer maar ziet zichzelf nog wel als rallycoureur in de toekomst.

In 2006 gaat hij de rol van teambaas vervullen in zijn eigen team. Twee talentvolle Estlanders zullen onder zijn leidng een gooi doen naar het Estlands nationaal kampioenschap. Dit als een weerwoord op alle Russen, Litouwers en Letten die op dit moment de prijzen pakken in het kampioenschap van Estland.

Dit is inderdaad een verlies voor de rallywereld. Maar anderzijds is het wel begrijpelijk dat hij de helm (tijdelijk) aan de haak hangt. Ik wens hem alvast veel succes met het vervolg van zijn loopbaan, en misschien toch ... tot weerziens!

Simpel, die doen wat zij willen en geven niet zo veel om de FIA poespas. Plus de Denen zijn nu eenmaal autosport minded.
