FIA bevestigt dat er 6 teams (3x M1 en 3x M2) ingeschreven zijn voor het constructeurs (manufacturers) kampioenschap.

Zoals bekend rijden M1 teams de 16 rallies met een 2006 spec wagen (geen waterinjectie en passieve diffs). De eerste piloot is vast en de tweede piloot kan per rally genomineerd worden.
  • 1 Kronos Total Citroen WRT: Loeb
  • 2 Kronos Total Citroen WRT: Pons, Sordo (2005 spec, tot 8 rallies)
  • 3 BP-Ford World RAlly Team: Gronholm
  • 4 BP-Ford World RAlly Team: Hirvonen
  • 5 Subaru World Rally Team: P. Solberg
  • 6 Subaru World Rally Team: Atkinson, Sarazzin (4 ralies)
M2 teams moeten aan minimum 10 rallies deelneme en mogen met 2005 spec wagens rijden. Zowel de eerste als tweede piloot kunnen vervangen worden.
  • 7 OMV-Peugeot Norway (Bozian): H. Solberg (12 rallies)
  • 8 OMV-Peugeot Norway: Stohl (13 rallies)
  • 9 Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Rally Team: Wilson (Monte Carlo, waarschijnlijk meer)
  • 10 Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Rally Team: Tsjoen (Monte Carlo), Katijamaki
  • 11 Red Bull-Skoda Team: Aigner
  • 12 Red Bull-Skoda Team: ?
Dan zijn er nog een heel aantal prive teams die niet in aanmerking komen voor het constructeurskampioenschap.
  • Kopecky: Skoda, 10 rallies (geen M2 team omdat het slechts om 1 wagen gaat)
  • Gardemeister: Astra Racing, Peugeot 307, Monte Carlo
  • Bernardi: Bozian, Peugeot 307, Monte Carlo
  • Burri: BSA, Peugeot 307, Monte Carlo
  • Duval: First, Skoda (2006 spec), Monte Carlo
  • Atölye Kazaz Team Turkey, Subaru: eerste rally wordt Zweden, geen piloten genoemd (vorig jaar Aris Vovos en Kristian Sohlberg)

De titel even aangepast om verwarring met de F1 : line-up te vermijden, en vooral om later via de search-functie efficiënter te kunnen opzoeken.

Stohl zal nu toch het volledige WK rijden. Een goede zaak vind ik.

Een kleine update:

De belangrijkste kandidaten voor de 2de M2 Ford zijn volgens wrc.com Kosti Katijamaki (protege van Gronholm), Jari-Matti Latvala (P-WRC rijder) en Luis-Perez Companc.

Nog wat geruchten: de meest voor de hand liggende oplossing voor Galli en Rovanpera is om met een prive Mitsubishi van het RalliArt Italy team te rijden.

"This is not the end of me as a rally driver," he told Autosport magazine this week. "I'll always like driving a rally car fast. As for this being the end of me in the WRC, I don't know - you never say never. At the moment, there's a lot of excitement for me from other things, more than last year."

Het Red Bull team zoekt nog naar een gravelspeciaal en wrc.com suggereert Duval en Rovenpera.

rallye-magazin.de suggereert dan weer dat Duval kans maakt bij Ford. Volgens Christian Loriaux, hoofdingenieur bij M-Sport, is Duval immers de enige is die Loeb kan kloppen in de rally van Duitsland.
