24u Francorchamps
De editie 2003 van de 24 Uren van Francorchamps stevent af op een deelnemersveld van meer dan 60 wagens. De Belgische etmaalrace op 26 en 27 juli is op weg naar zijn beste uitgave sinds jaren met een driestrijd Ferrari, Lister en Viper.
Francorchamps maakt voor de derde keer deel uit van het FIA GT-kampioenschap. De inschrijvingen stromen binnen en de organisatie vermoedt dat de kaap van 60 gerond zal worden. Chrysler is weer sterk vertegenwoordigd met Belmondo, Larbre, Zakspeed, Force One, Zwaan, GLPK, Roos, DDO en Mirabeau. De Viper won de 24 uren de afgelopen 2 jaar met Larbre. Ferrari domineert de FIA GT dit jaar met de 550 Maranello van BMS Scuderia. JMB stelt eind juli in de 24 Uren de 575 voor! Lister zakt naar Spa af met niet minder dan 3 Storms, om beter te doen dan de tweede plek van vorig jaar. Zoals gisteren al gemeld, komt Chevrolet zo goed als zeker naar de 24 Uren met de Corvette van Selleslagh. En volgens de organisatie komt er nog een tweede exemplaar uit Spanje. Saleen is van de partij met de S7-R, uiteraard die van Konrad Motorsport, de jongste 2 races telkens op de pole, en de Saleen van Graham Nash. Er komt nog meer kleur in het veld met de Pagani Zonda, Viper Roadster, Mosler of TVR. Organisator RACE hoopt nog te kunnen pronken met een nieuwe, semi-officiëlë auto, met een ex-winnaar aan het stuur, op voorwaarde dat de auto gehomologeerd raakt BRON : www.pitstop.be

Eventjes een paar correcties/inlichtingen :
- Anthony Kumpen rijdt waarschijnlijk met de Force One Viper in Francorchamps. - De GLPK Viper is nog geen certitude, doch deelname behoort tot de mogelijkheden. - De Pagani Zonda GR zal eventueel aan de start verschijnen, doch ook dit is nog geen certitude...Indien de Pagani zou deelnemen, zullen Kumpen-Hezemans deze wagen besturen...
